5. How DocuLock Handles Your Files

DocuLock is designed around client-side encryption.

  • Files are encrypted locally on the user’s device using local JavaScript before upload.
  • DocuLock does not have access to plaintext file contents in the ordinary operation of the Services.
  • DocuLock stores encrypted file data, document metadata, and related proof, verification, timestamp, or audit records as applicable.
  • DocuLock may generate cryptographic hashes, timestamps, audit logs, or verification records associated with uploaded content.

Important: Even where file contents are encrypted, certain metadata may still be processed or stored, such as file size, upload time, file type, record identifiers, and account association.

DocuLock does not access plaintext file contents unless the user separately and expressly provides access, credentials, exclusive rights, or other authorization that permits such access.

Users are responsible for maintaining access to credentials, passwords, keys, recovery phrases, or other access mechanisms used to protect their documents, where applicable.
